Did You Know?

From Our Community

Trezuer Butler ('15)

"I always felt like ICA was my second home and I always felt safe there. I never really enjoyed getting up and going to school until I went to ICA. If I didn't go to ICA, I don't think I would have been as mentally, emotionally, and spiritually prepared for college."

Natasha Marston-Sy ('10)

"As women, we're conditioned to appeal under the male gaze, so to speak. So when you go to an all girls school and get an all girls education, that distraction or external factor just isn't there day to day, which feels very freeing. I wasn't always worried about how I looked or who I was trying to impress, so I could truly focus on myself and who I was separate from boys. Having that community of women gives you that safety to grow in your self-confidence. It just helps to not have this additional layer that influences how you might behave or actually clouds who you really want to be."

Nikki Pasamic ('14)

"While being at ICA I grew up seeing more women in leadership roles and executive positions. I think that helped me a lot with my confidence and taught me that if I put my mind to it, I am capable. Being surrounded by excellent leaders from a young age gave me the mindset that I, too, am excellent. I am capable without any predetermined limitations. "

Gabriela Lanza ('18)

"During those four years, I participated in a bunch of different clubs, joined the swim team, and even became an ASB (Associated Student Body) leader. I found a community and a group of people that I can count on. By the time that I graduated to go to college, I was more of my authentic self and a lot more confident than when I entered."
