Building a College Culture

Going into the 2019-2020 school year, ICA Cristo Rey is renewing its commitment to providing a college culture for all its students through the expansion of its Advanced Placement (AP) course offerings, and curriculum updates for all students. For the first time, ICA Cristo Rey will offer AP US History, AP English Language and Composition, AP Calculus, and the AP Seminar course, bringing our total number of AP offerings to 10.

The AP Seminar course is a unique, research-intensive course that will focus on Catholic Social Teaching. Students in this course will research and present on a variety of topics, synthesizing sources from history, science, literature, art, and politics. This research-based curriculum will also be modified into a new Catholic Social Teaching course for all juniors not in the AP course.

These new courses and curriculum changes are part of our ongoing commitment to graduating all of our students with the skills and experience to succeed in college. We look forward to reporting on the successes of these courses and further developments in our college culture in the coming year.
