Both phases have been generously funded by Mike and Margaret McCaffery, George and Mary Lawson, Shea Family Charities, the Olympic Club, the Cristo Rey Network, and an anonymous donor, who came together to provide $250,000 for the project.
Under the supervision of CSDA Architects, Arrow Acoustics, and Paganini Electric we’ve had the opportunity to further develop the usability of our gym, with acoustic tiles to modulate the echoes so common in a gym, electrical updates to enhance the audio system, and a new scoreboard.
These renovations continue to grow the gym’s usability and opportunities for the ICA Cristo Rey students and its larger community. The gym is one of the largest spaces on campus and we look forward to hearing the Spartan Spirit there throughout this school year and beyond.
By the end of October this phase will be complete and walls will be adorned by the American Flag, the California State flag, and an ICA Cristo Rey Flag. We’ll be celebrating the renovation early next calendar year. Stay tuned!
