Community
At ICA Cristo Rey, we believe in caring for the whole student -- mind, body, and spirit. In addition to academic and work-study programs, we feature a wide array of athletics, student activities and clubs, campus ministry opportunities, and PE and wellness offerings.
Our athletics program features seven teams competing at the junior varsity and varsity level. We play within the San Francisco United School District, squaring off against public and private high schools throughout San Francisco. Our student-athletes practice between 5-6 times per week while balancing school, homework, and the CWSP program.
Student activities are many and include student government, affinity groups, clubs, arts (such as photography, visual arts, and choir), and a student newspaper. Students are also encouraged to begin student organizations focusing on their interests, and indeed, new clubs are created each year. Our Campus Ministry students host liturgies, prayer services, and daily prayer throughout the year, and run at least one full- or multi-day retreat for each grade level. Kairos retreat is also offered to juniors and seniors. Our PE/Wellness program helps each student develop their physical and emotional selves. Opportunities range from yoga and dance to fitness, strength and conditioning, and gardening. |
