ICA Cristo Rey's Personal Counseling Team fosters meaningful relationships with students and supports their social and emotional learning. With a strong focus on mental and emotional health, the team is skilled in identifying and addressing students' needs. In times of crisis—such as conflicts in personal relationships, concerns about self-harm, anxiety, or depression—the Personal Counseling Team provides compassionate support and assistance to students and their families.
Mental Health Matters
Our Personal Counseling team works hard to foster a safe environment for Spartans to gain awareness around mental health and practice social-emotional wellness. Through various school-wide activities, our students are able to learn from mental health experts and community organizations dedicated to uplifting young people in the San Francisco Bay Area. Some of these activities include:
Stress Management and Teens The second link to the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry website provides teens techniques to manage stress.
Packing our Emotional First Aid Kit This link to the Girls Leadership website provides suggestions on emotional wellness tools and activities that can be done at home and in the classroom to build emotional resilience.
California launched the first free statewide mental health line called the Peer-Run Warm Line
Peer-Run Warm Line (1-855-845-7415).
The Peer-Run Warm Line provides assistance via phone and webchat on a nondiscriminatory basis. This non-emergency resource is available for anyone in the Bay Area seeking emotional support.
